Forum functionality with gamification to encourage engagement

In this case gamificiation refers to "point scoring" as a means to encourage engagement and stimulate interaction. For useful forum contributions users can receive points, given by other users by clicking the big plus button. Users with the most points will be rewarded with a bronze, silver or golden badge in their user profile. The scores needed per badge and the badge pictograms can be configured per portal.

The forum feature is very easy to set up. Just create the forum with 2 to 5 main forum categories, launch it and let the users do the rest of the work.

The main screen will show all topics of all categories including useful statistics such as number of posts, rating and date and time of the newest contributions.

The user can proceed to screens per category and per topic with smart loading of topics with many comments. Every user can easily add a new topic. 

For all added comments e-mail notifications are sent to the topic participants and obviously you can unsubscribe with a simple click.
